How to join a Meetup1 meeting in your browser

Quick answer: Meetup1 is a web-based conferencing platform. Open the meeting link in a modern browser, allow the camera or microphone permissions you want to use, and follow the host’s admission or sign-in requirements for that meeting.

Before you join

  • Use the meeting link or meeting ID provided by the host.
  • Open Meetup1 in a current browser on the device you plan to use.
  • Check that your browser has permission to use the microphone and camera if you want to send audio or video.
  • Use headphones when possible if your microphone is picking up speaker echo.

What happens after you open the meeting link

  • The exact join flow depends on the meeting configuration. A host can use admission controls such as a waiting room, passcode, or account requirements. Some meetings may therefore open directly into a pre-join experience, while others may ask you to wait for approval or complete an access step first.
  • If a device permission was previously blocked, use your browser’s site-permission controls to allow the camera or microphone and then reload the meeting page.

If you cannot join

  • Confirm that you are using the correct meeting link or ID.
  • Check whether the meeting is waiting for the host or requires host approval.
  • Review camera and microphone permissions in the browser address bar or site settings.
  • Try reloading the meeting page after changing a permission.
  • If access is still blocked, contact the host because the meeting may be locked, expired, or configured with additional admission requirements.
