How waiting rooms and meeting passcodes work in Meetup1
Quick answer: Meetup1 supports waiting-room and passcode workflows for meeting access. Hosts can use these controls with participant management and meeting locks to reduce unwanted entry and decide who is admitted.
Waiting rooms
A waiting room places participants in an admission state before they enter the main meeting. The host or another authorized meeting role can review and admit participants according to the meeting configuration.
Passcodes
A meeting passcode adds an access secret in addition to possession of the meeting link or ID. Hosts should share passcodes only with intended participants and avoid posting protected meeting credentials publicly.
Additional host controls
- Use participant management to remove an unwanted participant when necessary.
- Use meeting locks or admission controls when you no longer want new participants to enter.
- Review the participant list before discussing sensitive information.
- Treat meeting links and passcodes as access information rather than public marketing URLs when a meeting is private.
